What does math look like in a preschool classroom? It was counting, stacking, and sorting last week in Fortune Preschool. Each activity pictured above took a lot of time and patience from the scholars and the results were amazing. While not every activity included printed numbers, math is still present. A few learning activity examples include separating blocks by color, counting them, and learning math concepts through creating shapes with the blocks. The pom poms are used to teach 1:1 counting and patterns. While this child chose to make a rainbow, he showed great skills in sorting the pom poms and placing them one by one onto the tray. Lastly, we have a child that chose to pull out number tiles and place that corresponding amount of rocks underneath. While the picture shows him going up to the number 6, he actually took the time to count and sort to the number 10. Talk about patience! As we move along our preschool day, we look forward to providing these opportunities to your children to help them grow.
Preschool Extra Clothes
We are getting low on extra clothing that we have in case of potty accidents. Please check your child's clothing for a "Fortune Preschool" label and return as soon as possible. Also, if your child has outgrown clothing, we will also accept gently used items for our clothes closet.
A few reminders:
-Sign your child in & out every day. Don't forget your Child Action attendance as well!
-Please pack three changes of clothing for your child in case of accidents
-Replace diapers/pull-ups as needed to prevent running out
-Bring in a family photo for a future project
-Take home your child's nap sack and sheet to wash on Fridays
-Wear your mask when dropping off & picking up your child and sign in & out on the visitor log
